Episode Notes - |
Working title: "The Blight."
First apperance of the Gamma Site, an off-world science base.
Allusions:
Starship Troopers: At the end of the episode, Colonel Mitchell suggests watching Starship Troopers. This 1997 film by Paul Verhoeven is loosely based on Robert A Heinlein's 1959 novel of the same name about an interstellar war between humans and intelligent insects.
Trivia:
When the Odyssey arrives and beams the delegates off the planet, the bugs are shown only a few inches away from SG-1. However, when the camera cuts to another angle as SG-1 is about to be beamed off the planet, the bugs are still a few feet away. |
