竜宮島を破壊していくフェストゥム・スフィンクス型に対し、ファフナーのないアルヴィスは危機に陥る。一方翔子は、一騎との約束を守るため、ファフナーに乗ることを決心した。育ての母・容子の静止を振り切り、翔子はファフナー・マークゼクスを駆る。
一騎の活躍によって新国連艦隊は救われたものの、竜宮島では劣勢が続いていた。そして、翔子とファフナー・マークゼクスは、いつしかフェストゥム・スフィンクス型に同化されてしまい…。
