小夜とハジは、小夜の生まれた場所「動物園」に辿り着く。
草は伸び放題、崩れてほぼ外壁の一部だけが残る屋敷跡。
そこで小夜の脳裏に、ハジとの出会い、「動物園」の創設者ジョエルの誕生日にハジの身に起こった出来事、そして燃え上がる屋敷の光景等過去の記憶が甦る……。
