Through an ancient device McKay apparently gains new mental powers. His brain can grasp things the other can't. He wants to reprogram Atlantis's use of the Z.P.M., and the others don't understand what he's doing, but it's not going all that well - it causes Zelenka to get hurt by a surge of energy.

Episode Notes - |
Pay-TV Premiere on December 11, 2006 on Movie Central in Canada.
Airdate in the US: 2007-05-04
This episode was broadcast before "Sunday" on Movie Central which was produced as 3x14 in production. If "Sunday" had been aired before "Tao of Rodney" the plot would not be understandable without having seen the next episodes. There was some confusion in the SGA community as to why "Sunday" didn't air instead of "Tao of Rodney".
From one the writers of the show at the time of the Canadian airings: "Tao of Rodney" was always meant to air before "Sunday". They were shot out of order to accommodate certain production and budget issues.
The production number is often different from the airing order. It's a very common practice. The only reason there is confusion here is because they are airing in Canada quite a long way ahead of the sci-fi broadcast - so airing order has not been finalized yet." |
