Abby and Kovac finally decide to hire a nanny to care for their son Joe, but are troubled when they meet the potential candidates. Morris and Sam try to treat a biligerant patient that comes in with seemingly simple flu. However, when they discover that his condition is much more complicated, the patient refuses treatment. During a trip to the park with Joe, Abby inadvertantly meets Curtis Ames. Meanwhile, Gates and Neela argue with each other at a hospital board meeting.
