Kidnapped (2006) - 1x13 - Resolution

With Leo safely at home, King and Knapp set out to wrap up the loose ends that seem to connect Vance to the plot to frame King. However, as Atkins and Archer are also discussing how to expose Vance, something else entirely unfolds when Atkins stumbles onto an elaborate command post at Archer's home that has been used to track Leo Cain's kidnapping. But before he can ask any questions, Atkins is ambushed and killed by the crime's real mastermind - Agent Andy Archer. Meanwhile, though Knapp is certain that Vance is guilty, King isn't so sure. And as King presses Archer to contact Atkins, Turner tells Knapp of the connection between Leo's hospital stay and Kellog's prison pen pal, Emerson Jaynes.

As the Cains prepare to address the press before leaving town for some much-needed rest, King is at the hospital to interview the doctor who performed the heart transplant that saved Leo's life. And while Knapp pursues Claire's killer in hopes of finding Vance, Archer slips away long enough to clean up one last loose end by killing the Operator. Then, as Dr. Jannssen reveals that the patient who died in the hospital room next door to Leo was Andy Archer's son, and Annie Phillips recognizes Archer as the same man who dated her daughter before she was killed, King calls to warn Knapp that the Cain family is still in grave danger.

After murdering the agents assigned to Leo and then felling Turner with two bullets to the chest, Archer lays out the details of his vengeful scheme for Conrad and Ellie. Recalling how his son was about to get a heart transplant, he accuses Conrad of paying to have the organ given to Leo instead. While Conrad insists he did nothing of the sort, Ellie admits that she made sure Leo got the heart but never told her husband. But as the standoff looks ready to end tragically for the Cains, King uses a sniper rifle to take down Archer, while Knapp discovers that Turner's life was saved by her bullet-proof vest. Finally, as the Cains are left to consider the aftermath of the situation that Ellie set into motion in a desperate attempt to save Leo, and King apprehensively looks ahead to retirement, Knapp gets a disturbing phone call from Kellog.
