Emmy (Torri Higginson) is a grown woman now, but when her husband casually dismisses dolls as “toys for little girls to play with,” she knows how wrong he is. For when she was a little girl, and a maniacal child murderer was loose in the neighbourhood, it was Emmy’s (Megan Diamond) own doll, Nancy-Lynne, who provided the comfort necessary to make it through the night. At the conclusion of this memory, Emma needs to say very little to convince her husband and daughter of the importance of dolls.
