Michael Weston receives a "Burn Notice" from work. His job, as a spy, does not fire people; rather, they issue a burn notice to let the agent know their services are no longer required.

Unable to determine what happened to cause this change of events in his life Michael returns to his roots. Back home in Miami he begins realize he can not sit around and do nothing so he begins to help people in need, people the police can not or will not help.
