The Dead Zone (2002) - 6x04 - Big Top

A phone call from a concerned soccer coach leads Johnny (Anthony Michael Hall) to the grounds of a visiting “Alice in Wonderland” circus, hot on the trail of the school-skipping, barely teenaged JJ (Connor Price). Johnny doesn’t need a vision to see that JJ is head over heels for the pretty, young acrobat Monique (Devery Jacobs) and is set on watching her rehearse for the upcoming show. Johnny, however, is soon faced with a dilemma bigger than JJ’s bad behavior when he gets hit with a vision of a blonde woman crashing through a wall of mirrors. Johnny is still reeling from what he’s seen when he bumps into Lorenzo DeTulio (Patrick Labbe), a childhood friend who now owns the circus.

When Sheriff Turner (Cara Buono) shows up to investigate a break-in at the circus that appears to be targeted at Lorenzo, Johnny is hit with a dark vision of more danger to come. He decides that it’s time to send JJ home to an exasperated Sarah (Nicole deBoer), who is equally frustrated with Johnny and his disappearing acts as she is with her rebellious son. Johnny starts to get visions of sinister pranks being played on Lorenzo that imitate the chilling vision he had of the murdered blonde woman. Johnny learns that the murder was committed ten years ago by Duncan Miller (Kwasi Songui) who was recently released from prison. With the dangerous threat Johnny senses in his vision still lingering, Duncan appears to be the key to unlocking the shocking truth of what happened so many years ago. In the end, what will surprise Johnny the most is a discovery that will bond him to his son in a very unique way.
