Friendships are at stake when new casino owner, AJ Cooper (Tom Selleck), tries to make changes at the Montecito. Danny loses confidence that he will be the new president when Cooper opens the applicant search to external candidates. Mike (James Lesure) risks his friendship with Danny when he applies for the position, causing a little tension between them. Meanwhile, Sam (Vanessa Marcil) continues therapy and struggles with the realization that she has no "real" friends and decides to befriend the new hotel concierge, Piper (Camille Guaty).
