ある日の夜中、空座町に謎の穿界門が開き、謎の三人組が現世に現れる。その日の朝、登校した一護とルキアの元にホロウ出現の報が入る。いつものように退治に出かけようとする一護。と、その時、伝令神機に現れたホロウの反応が爆発的に増える。いきなり現れた大量のホロウに戸惑いながらも出動する一護とルキア。街中でホロウ退治をする二人は、謎の少女の魂魄と出会う。更に少女を追って二人の男が現れる。
