In an emotional new episode, "Lincoln Heights" continues to explore today's most relevant family topics when a letter arrives from the oldest son of the Suttons, Nate Ray, who is deployed on active duty in Afghanistan. Eddie, Jen and the kids struggle with the fears and pressures that come with having a loved one at war, mirroring the real-life military families who serve our nation each day.
As First Lady Michelle Obama raises awareness for the sacrifice of military families with her vocal support and attention, "Lincoln Heights" illustrates both the pride and the difficulties faced by parents, spouses and siblings of members of our armed forces. "Our soldiers and their families have done their duty. They do so without complaint," Mrs. Obama has said. "And we as a grateful nation must do ours, and do everything in our power to honor them by supporting them." The series chronicles the challenges and victories of enlisted character Nate Ray through a multi-episode story arc this season.
In addition, Cassie goes out to a club to take her mind off of her troubles with Charles, and Jenn discourages Tay from developing a friendship with Jarone, much to Eddie's dismay. Meanwhile, Lizzie and Andrew begin to take their friendship to a new level. Will Lizzie be able to put her former boyfriend's death behind her and welcome someone new into her life?
