The kids go undercover to learn how to blend in with the Fire Nation citizens. Aang enrolls in a Fire Nation School, while Sokka and Katara must pose as his parents.
Since Aang's survival (and continuing existence!) is a secret, the kids' plan to travel across the Fire Nation is to do it as stealthily as possible therefore this mission about learning to blend in is essential. For Aang, now with hair and a headband covering his arrow tattoo, this episode is his first chance to be a "normal kid" since he found out he was the Avatar.
