幻術返しが決まらず窮地に陥るナルトを救ったのは、チヨとサクラだった。すかさず反撃に転じるカカシ。イタチ相手にハイレベルな忍者戦を繰り広げ、裏の裏を読む作戦でカカシは天才忍者の本領を発揮。遂にナルトと協力してイタチを仕留めるのだった。一方、鬼鮫相手に苦戦を強いられていたガイだが、大技『朝孔雀』にて鬼鮫を撃破。無事因縁の敵を倒した筈の木ノ葉勢だったが――！？
