Johnny's (Anthony Michael Hall) early morning tee-off lands him in a coffin, covered in blood and dirt and elbow to elbow with rotting skeletons. He comes out of his vision struggling to breathe and realizes that someone is buried alive and running out of air. With no more than a golf ball to help trigger his vision, Johnny turns to a skeptical Sheriff Turner (Cara Buono) for help. At the police station, Johnny is hit with a vision that links the buried man to notorious loan shark Jack Deitz (Kent McQuaid), which sparks Turner's interest in pursuing the matter. When the two pay a visit to Deitz, Johnny is struck with another vision that finally puts everything into perspective. He is seeing the future, and time and air are running out inside the coffin. Meanwhile, Johnny's interactions with Turner ignite glimpses into a past incident that deeply affected her, but she refuses to discuss it with him.
Johnny pieces together scraps of clues and leads Turner to real estate agent Matt Mackenzie's (Marcel Jeannin) office. With a multi-million dollar deal on the line, Matt’s business partner Jesse (Carlo Maestroni) has mysteriously gone missing. Johnny determines that Jesse is definitely the man buried alive. But Johnny is still missing one important piece of the puzzle, and soon finds himself buried right next to Jesse—six feet underground! Johnny and Jesse are at the brink of asphyxiation when Turner arrives on the scene with the final clue to solve the case and save innocent lives. Although this case is closed, Turner is still haunted by a guilty secret that threatens to drive her to a desperate act, and she needs Johnny's help to overcome it, whether she likes it or not. |
