In the near future Jeff Freed, a doctor and civil service volunteer, is called to duty to join his squad and hunt down a rare creature, a Kreetor, that has gone on a rampage and killed hikers. The Kreetor picks off Freed's squad one at a time and captures him. The "Kreetor" reveals that he is a human (one of the "creators") and Freed and his entire civilization are mechanical creatures. Freed manages to kill the Kreetor and comforts his "wife" and newborn "child" with the knowledge that the Kreetors are extinct.
