NorBAC investigates a mysterious outbreak that is hospitalizing cyclists participating in the Tour Cyclo Quebec. As David angers race officials by shutting the race down, Mayko is reunited with her old flame, Milo, a cyclist in the race. Testing points to significant amounts of aluminum chloride in the racers' bodies; now the scientists' challenge is to find the spot on the track where they're all becoming infected.
Meanwhile, as Bob embarks on a controversial hyperbaric chamber treatment to deal with his brain infection, he tactlessly disheartens a struggling mother whose daughter, Maya, is undertaking the same treatment for cerebral palsy. While Bob tries to make amends for his faux pas, his own treatment results in a flashback from which he surfaces gasping for breath and uttering the name "Nina."
