Sixteen men and women are competing for the chance to become Sir Alan's new apprentice but one of them has already had their chips in a task involving fish. Meet the first candidate to have Sir Alan's immortal words, 'You're Fired', ringing in their ears. Getting to the bottom of what went wrong is celebrity chef James Martin, MD of Birmingham City FC Karren Brady and comedian Rufus Hound. They also try to spot this year's high flyers.
