Cavanaugh comes under threat from a serial killer who wants justice for the wrongful arrest of a recently deceased prisoner. Hale realises the murderer is using a violent video game as the blueprint for his activities, and predicts where he will strike next - the college campus where the lieutenant's daughter is a student.
