Dorie Goodwin ( the english name of the main character) stumbles across the Dusty Broom Magic shop one day in Port Mystic. The old witch who runs the shop is discovered by Dorie, and as a result, the newly formed green blob who was a witch and her Fairy Lorilei take Dorie, and later Reanne and Merabelle as apprentices.
