Scully, Doggett and Reyes investigate an old case that Doggett worked on as a cop in Brooklyn, dubbed "The Screwdriver Killer". They try to determine whether the man who was convicted and has just been released from prison was actually the man responsible for the murders. While Doggett maintains he caught the right perpetrator the first time around and is convinced the now-released killer will strike again, Reyes and Scully are at odds with Doggett on potential suspects for their current case. When Reyes discovers Doggett's culprit may have extraordinary powers that enable him to seamlessly commit murder without detection, they must race to stop him.
