He is a combination Yaqui-Mescalero Apache-Zuni Indian.
Native American actor who made a rather lackluster debut as Tonto in a poorly-received film remake of The Legend of the Lone Ranger (1981), but has since appeared to better advantage, especially in David Lynch projects.
His jewelry, carvings, paintings and ledger art have been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.
