Graduated from Hollywood High School Performing Arts Magnet.
Son of Mexican pop star and composer Jose Manuel Salazar. His hit in the late 1970s called "Eres Un Angel" fueled his popularity as a composer. Salazar went on to compose songs for popular Latin recording groups such as Los Diablos and Los Freddy's.
Graduated from the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City.
He is one of six children.

Performed in numerous theater productions in New York City before moving back to Los Angeles.
