He won a "Best Actor" Tony in 1975 for "Shenendoah"

Father of actor JD Cullum.

Nominated for Tony award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for role in "Urinetown", May 2002.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Cullum also was a standout tennis player, winning the 1951 Southeastern Conference doubles championship with Bill Davis.

Has won two Tony Awards as Best Actor (Musical): in 1975 for "Shenendoah," and in 1978 for "On the Twentieth Century." He also has two other nominations in the same category: in 1966 for "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever," and in 2002 for "Urinetown The Musical."
