Their song "Welcome to the Jungle", which proved to be their breakthrough hit to MTV and rock radio, is considered by many to be the definitive anthem to L.A.'s harsh underbelly of violence and sleaze. Ironically, singer W. Axl Rose wrote the lyrics to the song while in Seattle.
