With the start of his TV show "Dr. Phil" (2002), he and his wife and son, Robin and Jordan, moved to Beverly Hills, purchasing a $7 million mansion. His son Jay is in law school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Two sons, Jay McGraw (b. 1979) & Jordan (b. 1986)
In 2004 the children's TV series "Sesame Street" (1969) introduced the puppet "Dr. Feel" in his honor.

In 1968 was a middle linebacker on the University of Tulsa football team where he received a scholarship. On November 23rd of that year this team was defeated by the University of Houston 100-6 in one of the most lopsided college games in history. Scoring a touchdown for Houston in this game was wide receiver Larry Gatlin of the Gatlin Brothers fame. |
