During her senior year, she was editor-in-chief of Spelman's newspaper, "Spelman Spotlight" and she was the campus coordinator for the reelection campaign of Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson.
Holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University in New York (1981).
Majored in Theatre Arts and English at Spelman College and was graduated magna cum laude in three years (1980).
Chosen as "Scene Stealer of the Week" in "Soap Opera Digest" (2002)
Served as Miss United Negro College Fund for Morehouse College
Served as a judge for "Live with Regis and Kelly" for their "American Search for a Co-Host" (March, 2003)
