She has joined "American Idol" as the fourth judge, filling the void left by the departure of Paula Abdul. Additionally, she's inked a new five-year deal with Warner Bros. to continue her successful daytime talk show.

Victoria Beckham is tipped to be a permanent judge on American Idol in a £3 million deal.

The former Spice Girl is expected to replace Paula Abdul as long as Fox executives feel that she has a rapport with the public, reports the News of the World.

An industry insider told the newspaper: "American Idol is the highest rated show and they don't want to pick a judge viewers don't take to.

"Focus groups are going to be set up to judge Victoria's performance.

The “American Idol" host has closed a major new three-year deal with CKX, parent of “Idol” producer 19 Entertainment, worth $15 million per year.

Under the pact, which is believed to be the richest ever for a reality host, Seacrest will be exclusive to CKX in broadcast TV primetime to host “Idol” or any CKX-produced show that might succeed it.

Songwriter Kara DioGuardi to join panel

Scoot over, Simon Cowell. "American Idol" is adding a fourth critic to its panel of judges.

Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi will sit alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson when the eighth season of "American Idol" premieres in January, the Fox network said Monday.

"For the past seven seasons, Paula has had to endure the experience of being the only woman at the judges' table," said Mike Darnell, president, alternative programming of Fox, in a statement.

"With Kara by her side, Paula has some backup and now there is going to be a lot more `girl power' on the show," Darnell said.
