'Battlestar' boss keen on quick resumption

Battlestar Galactica's executive producer Jane Espenson has revealed her desire for the next episode to be aired as soon as possible following last week's mid-season finale 'Revelations'.
"I wish we could bring you the next episode right away," she told TV Squad. "In my mind the two fit together so closely so as to almost be a two-parter, and I have that awful sense of having had a phone call cut off mid-sentence with so much left unsaid."
Currently, the remaining 10 episodes of the fourth and final season are due to be aired in early 2009, with the hiatus caused by the writers' strike.

The Emmy- and Peabody-winning series will premiere its fourth and final original season on the Sci Fi Channel beginning Friday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. First, however, fans can whet their appetite a week earlier with two back-to-back specials about "BSG."

Sci Fi Orders 'Battlestar' Mini-Sodes

With "Battlestar Galactica" heading into its fourth and final season on Sci Fi, the cable channel is taking every opportunity to create additional content set in that world.
At Sunday's (July 15, 2007) Television Critic's Association press tour, Sci Fi Channel announced that a series of 2-3 minute mini-sodes will lead into the premiere the upcoming two-hour event "Battlestar Galactica: Razor." The shorts join the roster of innovative programming for the fall season.

Will Season Four Be the Last?

Battlestar's third season finale will air this weekend, wrapping up a ratings-challenged year. The Peabody Award-winning series has averaged a 1.4 household rating (with a low of 1.1), down 30% from last year's 2.0 average.
Will the fourth be the final season? Sci Fi's Executive VP of Programming Mark Stern said, "At this point, we don't know. It's still early days. We need to sit with Ron [Moore] and David [Eick] to hear what their plans are for that [fifth] season, and what they'd like to do about any future seasons."
