Laurence Fishburne to join CSI?

Laurence Fishburne is in talks to replace William Petersen as the star of CBS' veteran crime drama "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
The search for a new lead has been shrouded in secrecy, but sources say Fishburne is being heavily courted to play the new character, described as a doctor/scientist outsider to the CSI unit who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer but hasn't previously acted on any homicidal impulses.
Fishburne, an Oscar nominee for "What's Love Got to Do With It," had been mentioned as one of the "CSI" producers' top choices for the role, along with John Malkovich and Kurt Russell.

Lauren Lee Smith is joining "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" as a regular.
Smith will play Bryce Adams, a smart, flirtatious and witty nonconformist who is hired as a CSI on the night-shift team led by Grissom (William Petersen).

Ab November wird das Team um Gil Grissom dem von Lt. Caine nachfolgen und zukünftig auf RTL statt auf VOX ermitteln. RTL will "C.S.I. - Den Tätern auf der Spur" nun immer Donnerstags um 21.15 Uhr ausstrahlen. VOX wird als Ersatz für "C.S.I." am Mittwochabend den "Law & Order"-Ableger "Criminal Intent" auf 20.15 Uhr vorverlegen und den damit freigewordenen Platz um 21.15 Uhr mit dem neuen US-Import "The Closer" füllen.
