Emmy and Tony winner John Lithgow is joining the cast of Showtime's drama "Dexter."
Lithgow will appear in all 12 episodes of the show's upcoming fourth season, playing Walter Simmons, Miami's latest serial killer and Dexter Morgan's (Michael C. Hall) new nemesis.

Showtime has given an early greenlight to a second season of one-hour thriller "Dexter".
Production on 12 new hours of "Dexter" will begin next spring for a premiere next summer. Renewal arrives after just five episodes of the current season have aired.
