Una mamma per amica: dopo gli ascolti insoddisfacenti dei primi sette episodi trasmessi nelle ultime tre settimane ogni martedì sera, Italia 1 ha deciso di sospendere immediatamente la serie già a partire dal prossimo martedì 23 ottobre.
Mancano ancora da trasmettere gli ultimi 15 episodi inediti del telefilm: al momento è ignoto quando Italia 1 li manderà in onda.

In Joint statement from The CW and Warner Bros. Television regarding “Gilmore Girls”, "... they promise to give this series the send off it deserves.”
GILMORE GIRLS finale airs Tuesday May 15 on The CW at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The two Gilmore leads have, at different times, publicly expressed either dissatisfaction or a desire to move on. At the beginning of this year, Graham was given a producer credit on the show. Considering the timing, it seems likely this was done to ensure her interest in continuing for another season.

The WB's contribution to the new network the CW, as expected, will include "7th Heaven," "Gilmore Girls," "Smallville" and "Beauty and the Geek" as well as the recently renewed "Supernatural" and "One Tree Hill" for the 2006/2007 season.
