Since Peter Jacobson is busy playing House, Debra Messing's Starter Wife will get a new ex when the mini returns as a USA Network series in October.
David Alan Basche, who most recently had a run NBC's Lipstick Jungle, is taking over the role of Kenny Kagan, the Hollywood mogul Messing's character once was wed to, says the Reporter.

In spite of what the title implies, "The Starter Wife" isn't that easily discarded.
Debra Messing will return to television for the series "The Starter Wife," currently in development at USA as a follow-up to its successful summer miniseries of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The former "Will & Grace" star will reprise her role as Molly Kagan, a woman who has to rediscover her own identity after getting divorced from a wealthy Hollywood film mogul. Based on the novel by Gigi Levangie Grazer, the series will revolve around Molly's post-divorce adventures.
