Courteney Cox has agreed to play the lead role in the FX drama pilot "Dirt," her first major television role since the hit series Friends, announced Nick Grad, FX's Executive Vice President of Original Programming. In Dirt, Cox will play "Lucy Spiller," the editor-in-chief of two of the country's most widely read tabloid magazines, who controls the fates of the celebrities lining the pages. Dirt revolves around the dynamic Spiller; a schizophrenic paparazzo uncovering the dirt people love to read; and a struggling actor trying to make a name for himself.

Plot
2x01 - Welcome To Normal:
Picking up right where the finale left off, Lucy is unconscious after a brutal attack by Julia Mallory, who blames DirtNow for the destruction of her career. Don has a hard time after finding Lucy and his schizophrenia begins taking a toll. Holt's fame is rising as Willa begins to rise at DirtNow.
2x02 - Dirty Slutty Whores:
A pampered celebrity, who is famous for being famous, suddenly gets an early release from jail, and Lucy digs for the hidden story; Willa and Farber try to track down the origin of a viral video of a star behaving in a career-destroying manner.
2x03 - God Bless The Child:
After coming across some particularly disgusting information about a music tycoon, Lucy sets out to bring him down; Don finds the secrets of a politician who was formerly an actress, while Barrow takes measures to remind Lucy that he is the boss.
2x04 - Ties That (Don't) Bind:
A heavyweight studio executive reenters Lucy's life; Willa and Farber scoop the world with ugly news about a popular TV show as Holt's long-lost, outspoken relative comes into the media spotlight and turns his life into a public-relations nightmare.
2x05 - What Is This Thing Called:
As Lucy's love life gets more complicated, she and Holt try to figure out where they stand with each other; Don is conflicted about his profession after he becomes friendly with the pop star he's been assigned to photograph in compromising poses.
2x06 - And the Winner Is:
Brent goes out of his way to impress his new boss. Meanwhile, the staff learns that the real gossip is backstage while covering an awards show.
2x07 - In Lieu of Flowers…:
An overweight sitcom actor does everything in his power to keep himself from being a DirtNow cover story; a former child star causes Willa and Farber's relationship to be put to the test; recent events force Lucy to reevaluate her relationships.
