People lie. The evidence doesn't. It's the foundation of every conviction - with evidence, justice is possible; without evidence, guilty men walk free. No one knows the importance of evidence more than Inspector Sean Cole. After he lost his wife in a brutal murder, the only evidence the cops had was accidentally destroyed, and it ruined his faith in the system. Fortunately his partner and best friend, Bishop, is there for him, pulling him back to work, pushing him forward, as they both try solve these complex cases set against the beautiful streets of San Francisco.

Plot
1x01 - Pilot:
As Inspectors Bishop and Cole uncover disparate pieces of evidence -- a flowering hydrangea plant, a severed human finger with attached compass ring, a cellular phone, a gold locket and the victim’s body – they attempt to solve the homicide of a beautiful young pharmacist. Meanwhile, Cole continues to struggle with the memories and grief of his own wife’s unsolved murder.
1x02 - Down for the Count:
After a boxer is found dead in an alley following a fight, Cole and Bishop try to solve the murder and find the killer.
1x03 - Borrowed Time:
After the tragic, accidental death of her newlywed husband, a wife discovers posthumously that her husband had been concealing a year-long battle with cancer, prompting Goldman to recall painful memories of loss and tragedy from his own childhood.
1x04 - Five Little Indians:
As five friends from the same rehab center celebrate their sobriety together, Bishop and Cole are mystified when each of them is murdered under very similar circumstances.
1x05 - Yi vs. Li:
A traditional Chinese businessman is killed, Bishop and Cole must get help from outside the department to solve this crime.
1x06 - Wine and Die:
Cole and Bishop try to explore their dating possibilities at work, when they are called to a murder investigation. A man was killed, when he tried to steal a bottle of wine from a restaurant.
1x07 - Stringers:
When a paramedic is killed while accompanying her journalist boyfriend to a robbery in progress, Bishop and Cole trace the crimes to a suspect with a very personal vendetta. Meanwhile, Cole has some secret plans in store for Bishop's non-birthday.
1x08 - And the Envelope Please:
A nightclub DJ is murdered brutally, but the investigation of Cole and Bishop uncover even more than just a simple misunderstanding. Meanwhile Bishop's brother is released from prison and needs help to find a job. In the same time Cole works on the case of his murdered wife.
