Welcome to Godiva’s restaurant. Like its namesake, the bistro is bold, sexy and has no qualms about stripping bare. A funky canteen provides the high-energy backdrop for an assortment of people who gather every night to create the magic of this bar and dining room.
In part, Godiva’s takes you behind the scenes into the restaurant industry. Largely, however, the series is about ten young exiles who work together and call Godiva’s home. Despite their dysfunction and dramas, they share a need for meaningful connection. The city’s heart can be cold and cruel, so these folks take their family where they can find it.
Godiva’s serves up a mix of tones, showing us both the allure and antics of a young, urban world – and the darker reality lurking behind the glamour. You see the high-pressure, high-paced world of the restaurant biz, but you also spend time with our characters in the off-hours, weaving stories that, in their structure, depth and audacity, aim to rise above usual television fare. Godiva’s is a world where anything can happen.
