The dreaded school report. We've all had them, many of us have still got them, whilst some found ingenuous ways to lose or destroy them. But what do our school reports really tell us about our progress, our potential and our teachers?

We look at how school reports have changed from the cutting sarcasm of the 50s to the more feel-good language of the modern national curriculum. The days when a school report like Norman Wisdom's 'this child is every inch the fool, luckily for him he's not very tall' was commonplace and reflected the ethos of the times.

Celebrities discuss their experiences of school report day. They talk about the emotions they felt, and how accurately the teachers' assessments reflected their progress.
