General Hammond summons Colonel Jack O'Neill out of retirement to embark on a secret rescue mission. O'Neill confesses that he disobeyed orders to destroy the Stargate on Planet Abydos, and that scientist Daniel Jackson may still be alive. Arriving on Abydos with his team, O'Neill meets up once again with the scientist, who has discovered a giant elaborate cartouche in hieroglyphics. All signs point to the fact that this is a map of many Stargates that exist throughout the galaxy - a development that makes the dream of the SG-1 team to travel throughout the universe in time a reality.

Plot
9x01 - Avalon (Part 1) (Part 1):
Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell comes to the SGC to be the newest member of SG-1, but he soon learns from General Hank Landry, O'Neill's successor, that the team has disbanded. Carter is at Area 51, Daniel is about to go to Atlantis, and Teal'c has left the program to be with his people. However, after Vala arrives on Earth with a tablet that supposedly tells the location of an Ancient treasure, Mitchell decides that finding it would be the perfect way to reunite SG-1.
9x02 - Avalon (Part 2) (2):
An Ancient communications device renders Daniel and Vala unconscious, sending their minds to another galaxy -- where they inhabit the bodies of two people persecuted by the followers of an evil religion.
9x03 - Origin (3):
Daniel comes face to face with the Ori, a fiery race of beings who demand the worship of mortals. Elsewhere, Stargate Command encounters the first Ori missionary in our galaxy.

9x06 - Beach Head:
Like most Goa'uld, Nerus is a ruler/deity from the past. In this case he is the 1st century Roman emperor, Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus - also called Caligula. Known for his excessive hedonism, Caligula has become associated with lavish luxury and boundless sex and food.
9x07 - Ex Deus Machina:
SG-1 investigates when evidence suggests that there are still Goa'uld hiding on Earth -- including a former System Lord. Tensions between Earth and the Free Jaffa continue to mount.
9x08 - Babylon:
Colonel Mitchell is injured in a skirmish with a warrior from a mythic tribe of rebel Jaffa, and is trained in their fighting techniques only so that he may engage in a ritual battle to the death.
9x09 - Prototype:
SG-1 finds a Goa'uld-Human hybrid in stasis in an abandoned Goa'uld lab and take it back to Earth to study, where they learn it was created using Anubis' DNA.
9x10 - The Fourth Horseman (Part 1):

9x13 - Ripple Effect:
Multiple SG-1s show up at Stargate Command, leading the "real" team to conclude that they have each been inadvertantly displaced from different parallel realities.
9x14 - Stronghold:

SG-1 learns that the Lucian Alliance has been trading in kassa, a highly addictive crop. The alliance is a band of mercenaries and traders who have filled the power vacuum left when the Goa'uld were defeated, introduced in "The Ties That Bind." The team gates to P6G-452, a planet where kassa is grown, to meet Orrel, a mercenary working for the alliance, in the hopes he  [...] (More)

Vala was pulled into an intergalactic wormhole in the act of thwarting the Ori's attempt to create a planet-sized Stargate for their invasion ("Beachhead"). Vala makes contact using an Ancient long-range communication device, which links her to Daniel. She remains in the village where she now lives,  [...] (More)
