In the unforgiving swamps of North Carolina, Bobby Goodson goes where most loggers don't dare — the swamp. Where most average loggers find trouble, this swamp logger finds treasure in high-dollar timber. As a fourth-generation logger, Bobby leads a rugged crew of men, including his son, Justin, who runs the loader and trucking operation. Bobby's brother-in-law, Dave, runs another loader, and the most valuable man on the crew, Simitrio Ruiz, is the stumper cutter.
For Bobby's business to stay afloat, his equipment must operate with little breakdown, and he and his crew must deliver 20 loads to the mill daily to make ends meet. The pressure is on as the crew battles the treacherous swamp to harvest its valuable timber and get it to the mill. But times are tough and last year's oil prices have kept Bobby in the red. It's been a struggle to keep his company alive and keep his men off unemployment. To make matters worse, the tough economy is starting to hit the logging industry and supply is not meeting the demand. Harsh weather and a freak snowstorm wreak havoc upon Bobby's business and equipment, taking away valuable time and costing him thousands of dollars. It's going to take all he has to keep his business and livelihood from literally sinking into the swamp.
