Show Summary
The date is 1984. The location is San Diego, just one hour outside of the big dream we call Los Angeles. Corey (Glenn Howerton) and Katie (Tinsley Grimes) live with their Dad RT (Geoff Pierson) and Corey's friend Roger (Eddie Shin). Corey is a creative soul who is trying to make it in the music world in a decade that only appreciates financial success. Although his father, RT, is a successful professional who is about to strike gold with his Gut Whacker and ride the '80s fitness marketing craze wave, Corey finds it difficult to get in the game. On the other hand, Corey's friend Roger idolizes Ronald Reagan and listens to motivation tapes while trying to find his way into corporate America. The household is rounded out by Corey's younger sister Katie, a chip off the old block whose sweetness and naiveté make her the perfect go between for her father and brother. At Club Piranha, a local gathering place, Sophia (Brittany Daniel) is in control. Sophia, Corey's ex, is a beautiful, "grab all that I can" kind of girl who doesn't like to limit her choices. Sophia breaks up with Corey to explore other avenues and relationships... all types of relationships. Corey's one safe haven is Permanent Record, the music store where he works for Margaret (Margaret Smith), a woman who lived through the summer of love and emerged with quite a few stories (and a rash). But things change for Corey when he's forced to deal with the new girl, Tuesday (Chyler Leigh), a punk rocker who sports a mohawk and attitude to match.

And who is it for? Corey, who hates the holiday, and Tuesday, who hates everything,  [...] (More)

Katie wants Sophia to have the D.J. play some of Corey's music, but Sophia won't even entertain the thought, since it's a dance club, not a "sit and question life" club. Corey insists that if he wanted  [...] (More)

The death of Corey's "friend" comes back to haunt him. Meanwhile, Sophia concocts a diabolical scheme to steal Katie from Owen. Katie turns 21, and Sophia throws an extravagant party for her at Club Berlin -- only to feel rejected when Katie gives her no more than a thank you. Corey invites Tuesday to Katie's second party back at the Howard house, but wonders if she'll actually show up. Roger hurts his leg after  [...] (More)
1x08 - After the Kiss:
Corey's and Tuesday's kissing fest leads to heartache. Meanwhile, Roger joins Katie in aerobics class to scope out babes. And RT creates a monster when he promotes Sophia. Corey and Tuesday share a spur-of-the-moment kiss in Margaret's office, which Margaret bears witness to. At Club Berlin, Katie is surprised to find out that her aerobics instructor, Venus, is also a bartender there. Since Roger is on the prowl for women and Venus was a dancer in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video, Katie  [...] (More)

When Roger needs a date, Tuesday promises to fix him up. Meanwhile, Katie feels guilty about RT not knowing she's no longer in school. And Sophia produces an infomercial for RT. When his date cancels, Roger is stuck with an extra ticket to a Bob Marley festival, which was supposed to be a double date with Corey and Tuesday.
