	Show Summary

Created by Harry Robertson and Brian Degas, the series was described in the Radio Times as being about 'a criminal psychologist who moonlights as an off-beat criminal investigator.' Nicholas Clay played Dr John Cornelius, a university lecturer who was ably assisted in his investigations by his girlfriend Samantha Valentine, played by Kim Thomson.

Effectively taking up where The Avengers had left off some twenty-three years earlier, the stories were outlandish in the extreme, taking in the full range of British eccentricity from mad Judges through to vampires and virtual reality. The sight of Santa cycling to a police station to empty a sack of bones on the counter and Bugs Bunny delivering a message from a killer could almost have been taken straight from Twin Peaks, and showed far more imagination than many other programmes of the time.
